Polytheistic Ovaries

It’s probably something that a spellchecker is doing (in fact Chrome’s spellchecker is suggesting it) but still the mix-up of polycystic and polytheistic is impressive:

During the Scan they told me I have a bad case of PCO’s (polytheistic ovaries)

i have polytheistic ovaries

I am trying to get pregnant but I have a history of polytheistic ovaries

It’s not really amusing, is it? That would be cruel.

Funny!

On the same note of orthographical confusion: lots of examples of “cattleist” for “catalyst.” Two of them:

African American forum: “Jesse Jackson Sr. was the cattleist, the first serious black candidate for president, the first to win states and caucuses.”

Political blog: “On April 25, 1898 the United States declared war on Spain using the sinking of the Battleship Maine in Havana harbor on February 15, 1898 as the cattleist for “WAR”.”

Can’t think how it would be an eggcorn. Just another wild spelling.

Hatching new language, one eggcorn at a time.

I can see an eggcornish meaning-confusion. A cattleist is something that can get participants to go along with whatever’s happening in much the same way that cattle will follow the lead animal or will allow themselves to be herded. This fits well with the concept of a catalyst. I say it’s an eggcorn, and a good one at that.
