flipsy << flimsy

“Flipsy” for “flimsy:”

Trucker post: “It does not mean that the lady should have to pay for dinner if he says he forgot his wallet, or some other flipsy excuse out of him to get a free meal off of a lady.”

Book review: “the food industry has penetrated certain government agencies to promote their products based on flipsy evidence and data manipulation”

Blog entry: “My flipsy excuses did not seem to hold water for him”

Hotel review: “Our bathroom was quite grotty, very flipsy cheap shower cubicle and the kitchen areas again need revamping.”

Toy review: “My Quiet Book is unlike most that are very flipsy , ltweight material out on the market.”

Some re-imaging going on. “Flipsy” suggests nonchalance, inconsistency, while “flimsy” conveys the idea of impermanence, lack of robustness.
