"tier" for "tare"

A tare is the weight of an empty container or conveyance, used to calculate the net weight of whatever is in it, such as when you bring a bottle into a store and have the checker weigh it to get the tare weight before filling it with whatever substance you’re buying.

ACETONE
(required per cylinder of
Acetylene gas produced
varies as
per the tier weight of the cylinder)
technical specs

so what I would like to see is that the vehicles tier weight should take module into the weight calculation. not just the tier weight itself.

I’m not sure there’s a plausible eggcornish meaning confusion here. This may be just a case of people substituting a word they’re familiar with for one they’ve never heard of and don’t realize exists.

Re: "tier" for "tare"

I wasn’t aware of the ‘weighty’ acorn at all, and have some difficulty in banishing recollection of its starring role in that parable co-starring wheat. That said, tear weight seems nicely eggcornish for a point at which something might rip, or beyond which one shouldn’t go. Here’s another possible variant, though whether it is referring to tares, tires or tyres is no longer clear:

I have wanted to go out and check this area out > please let more. .... long as you do not exceed 45% of your tire weight (45 %= 618.75lbs) by 1 ..
