On a tandem

Attributed to Sol Campbell in the “Commentatorballs” column in Private Eye No 1396: “You’ll have people who want to go off on a tandem” instead of “off at a tangent”

Re: On a tandem

A quick search turns up an earlier instance on here, although no one seems to have taken interest: http://eggcorns.lascribe.net/forum/view … hp?id=1106

I can see a decent argument for eggcornicity here, talking about two topics “in tandem” rather than the initial one…

I wouldn’t necessarily assume people don’t find a post interesting just because there are no replies. Sometimes it just seems that nothing need be added. I do wish there were some sort of “Like” or “Upvote” button on this site so I could easily express appreciation for some of the wonderful posts I see here on a regular basis. That would also make it easier to give newbies a pleasant response by way of making them feel welcome here.

FWIW, I agree with you about that.
