"smelly A" for "sommelier"

Heard some chick blabbing away on her cell phone yesterday talking about she is taking classes to become a “smelly A”. More of a pronunciation and Americanization accent issue, but still funny.

Only two hits did I find for this, and those may be Cupertinos, but still, tantalizing. I presume you’re deducing some connection to wine sniffing, joejoe.

However, sadly it had never truly been on the cards for Ryo to become a wine smellier in a grand hotel.
