Nostril comes from OE roots meaning “nose thrills”, or in modern parlance, nose holes. The thrill part was first, literally, piercing, before it became a metaphor piercing emotion. It’s also related to through. So nose drills recaptures the original sense that is no longer evident in nostrils.

Self medication regret: ok this might sound wired but I had some sinus problems so I decided to put a clove of garlic into my nose. A little piece somehow got stock in my nose drill and now I am in panic I have a feeling it is in my ear.
Little treasure regret: I put the egg into my pocket so that I can show off to my friends later but I had learned a precious lesson. Never put eggs into your pocket, especially the rotten one! Suddenly a very smelly and weird smell go into my nose drill.
Plastic surgery regret: One week ago I had a nosejob. From day one I knew something wasn’t right. My nosedrills looked bigger
Anti-allergy nose mask: Maybe for someone with really small round nosedrills this would work. But for me it was a big waste of money.
