I just came across a Craigslist posting that tickled the egg-corn area of my brain The seller is advertising their “radial-arm saw” as a “radio-arm saw” as follows:
“Craftsman 10” Radio Arm Saw & Cabinet – $65”

That’s a cute substitution. I’m not sure there’s a plausible meaning connection that would allow us to call it an eggcorn. What would a perp be visualizing or assuming as the reason for the term “radio-arm”?

A possible motivation could be the association of radio with (high?) tech?
.
Probably about 25 years ago here in Mexico taxis with CB radios were ubiquitous, and advertised themselves as Radio Taxis , A relative few (but still quite a few), trying to project a higher-tech image, started calling themseves Video Taxis .
