passify(er) < pacifi(er)

In an effort to passify those who think men are portrayed in advertising as over sexed, neanderthal morons, JWT has announced it will cease …

It cost more, but the producers were now desperate to just finish the movie at all cost, and passifying the director’s whims to finish the film became a priority.

This baby doll does look like a real baby but her skin feels like a soft rubber doll. The passifier is NOT magnetic but is a very tight fit

Before long, the universities will replace final oral exams with oral passifiers.

Passify has several legitimate meanings where something is rendered passive. And often a part of pacifying is rendering belligerents inactive, which is pretty close to passive. So it’s no wonder these two have gotten mixed up.
.
Hopefully parents who use a pacifier (we did, I confess) are not aiming to raise completely passive kids.

Re: passify(er) < pacifi(er)

This one has been entered before in simbling form as passivist and passified. May or may not be related: ska punk band The Passive Fists.
