A student writes: “Poe wanted to give readers an inside into his own mind….” She uses it consistently for “insight.” Might be a mere misspelling, but looks eggcornish to me, as I can see the logic of giving someone an inside view into something.

Gracious, has it been nine years already? How time flies when you’re having fun. I suppose it’s because I don’t comment much on others’ posts, as I’m not really a linguist. I only post when I think I’ve caught an eggcorn in the wild.
