This would be a funny substitution in the right story, but in this case it was a report on a cupcake company’s new location, so I doubt the meteorological reference was intentional:

I’ve actually heard this spoken aloud, and the people I’ve heard say “windy” pronounced “waɪndɪ” as in a corruption of the word winding, not the word for high winds. Might be an example of buffy-speak.
