Not sure what to make of this. If these are not wtf typos, then what is the image being invoked? Relying on education to get ahead? Boots mostly don’t have straps any more, but even less do books. If it is at all eggcornish, it has moved in a direction that makes less sense than the acorn. It paints an alternative picture even so.

For someone who doesn’t know the image behind lifting yourself by your own bootstraps, “bookstraps” may actually make more sense. I like it.
