Weary, wary... could be either...

“It makes sense that a business (Sony) promoting a product (“Ghostbusters”) would be weary of aligning itself with any political candidate — even in the slightest sense.”

The author could argue that yes, businesses would be TIRED of aligning themselves with politicians, since that’s a problem we are all weary of, but in this case, Sony is CAUTIOUS because of—gasp!—the feminist overtones Clinton’s appearance might lend to the otherwise fluffy Ghostbusters promotion.

Welcome to the forum, chaigrahammar. Weary/wary has caught the weary/wary eye of previous posters, without any clear verdict one way or the other. You can search for the word weary in previous posts, above.
