Encountered a few hours ago while looking for a new used car. It oughtn’t work, but somehow does, clumsily suggesting the past glimpsed through some DeLoreanic portal.
I love when i enter a restaurant and the tables are covered with white tablecloths, it’s a through-back to the past when things were more formal; of course the service, food, decor, lighting and the crowd also has to be good to make the entire experience memorable.
And yes, it’s definitely a through-back to the british cars we used to drive. Any idea where to get the zipper replaced?
It was founded in 1876 and is a through-back to those old days with its ancient wooden plank floors and tables.
A through back to a kinder gentler time when a ship full of damned souls tormenting people in the isolation of the ocean was considered scary.

“A though back” is really common on the web. Also a large number of examples of “throughback.”
If finding eggcorns is the result of car shopping, then shop away. May your life be full of used car salesmen.
