'stop on a time' for 'stop on a dime'

To stop on a dime is to stop abruptly and precisely. Stopping on (or at) a time should mean much the same. About 300 ghits:

I was just researching the reverse eggcorn: “living on borrowed dime” for “living on borrowed time.” After a little thought, I decided that the “dime” construction was intentional, indeed contrived…
