I took a couple small, tentative test steps on the pine-needled, glacier-scraped shield rock. Then with a grinmace I followed my friend down the portage.
From A SMiLE To A Grinmace.
Tell him that people on the internet think he’s ugly. He already knows it,. but guys he is just making a grinmace
The boy grinmaced and walked over to the staircase, accidently kicking the creep in the face on his way there.
Jo gave the skirt of the outfit Kam had become with a gleeful cackle after her shower and grinmaced as she took in her appearance in the full length mirror.
A lot of clearly advertent usages, and some of those above may be, but likely not all are. Grimace and grin are pretty clearly related in meaning, of course.
Cf. grimace(d) <> grimmest , grim and bear it
A (fictional) perp-confession of a purposeful blend with this result:
Future-Mabel’s smile turns into the grin-grimace that Mabel had long ago given the name grinmace. “I’d prefer zie,†zie says. Mabel blinks.
