it was the fact that the young Kryptonian was essentially just wearing a pair of knickers above the knee that infuriated many fans and it wasn’t long until she returned to a somewhat more traditional outfit which wasn’t quite so overly sexy.

While it’s possible that this writer really meant “overly” in its usual sense here, I think it’s an eggcorn for “overtly”, due to the context and the fact that “overly” along with “wasn’t quite so” would actually be redundant. Unfortunately, I can’t think of any search terms that would allow me to research this one without yielding a zillion non-eggcornish usages of “overly” for every buried hit. Any thoughts, fellow eggcornistas?
