"lodge" for "loge"

Recently I encountered this:

There are a couple hundred hits for “lodge seats” online. No surprise that an unfamiliar word like “loge” would be replaced by the much more commonly understood “lodge”, especially given their similar meanings. I assert that this is an eggcorn, but not a terribly exciting one, due to the fairly close etymological connection, as per the Online Etymology Dictionary: “lodge (n.) Middle English logge, mid-13c. in surnames and place names; late 13c. as “small building or hut,” from Old French loge “arbor, covered walk; hut, cabin, grandstand at a tournament” (12c.)...”
