My favorite eggcorns are those that capture something of the intended meaning of the original, and this one, to me, conjures an image of a young couple caught amidst a new and exciting romance, jetsetting across the globe.

“World wind” (or “worldwind”) for “whirlwind” has been discussed in this forum at least three times, here, here, and here. I suggest that before posting, people go to the second search field on the Eggcorn Database page (the field that’s labeled “Google Search”) and search for the eggcorn or other treat they’re thinking of posting, to see if it’s already been discussed here. I prefer to add to an existing discussion rather than to have proliferating threads on the same topic
