'Fearocious' and 'virocious' for ferocious

A student made a blend, in French, of the words for ferocious and voracious, which came out as something like virocious in English. A blend of voracious, virulent and ferocious.

Gooseberry sawfly larvae are virocious leaf feeders feeding from April onwards.

Altough small, these guys can be quite virocious. #meerkat

Add a soupçon of fear and you get…

Obviously, the idea of this was to make a small, fearocious looking thing that would look generally creepy.

Participants are sure to get excited towards the finish as they slide under a fearocious giant Gorilla and slide alongside a long python.

“Fearocious” Great eggcorn. Lots of puns on the web, but also many serious uses.

Hatching new language, one eggcorn at a time.
