I'm dually impressed

Dually noted is guessed at in the first hit as “As we both recognize”. Along with the hits for I’m dually impressed, it might be interpreted as “extra impressed”. The first perp does not include “duly” as a possible spelling, which is telling.

Dually noted. Or is it Dewly noted? Duelly? I don’t know what that phrase means really. Does it mean “we both note it”, as in dually noted?
R: Duely noted is the correct spelling and I should know I’m English.

Do you write your own Tom Swifties, Tocayo? I agree, a very good one.

Re: I'm dually impressed

All in all a great day. We even sang a duet on the way in. Hang down your head Tom Duelly. I don’t have a clue how to spell Duelly. In fact the only thing I am good at is growing potatoes. My normal rig, ice jig, plastic and wax worm fished 2 to 3 feet down took all the fish I caught.

Canadian investment agency “We will also help you with the dual diligence and all the necessary steps to secure the deal.”

Many other examples of “dual diligence” for “due diligence.”

Re: I'm dually impressed

Where AmEnglish can render dual as ‘dool’, some Englishes hear and pronounce it like jewel. If you squint your eyes and tilt your head you just might glimpse an eggcornish gleam in this example:

Upon entering the property there is the entrance hallway which leads into the spacious carpeted open plan lounge area which has been well maintained with jewel aspect windows shining in shades of natural light throughout and is complete with a built in fire place.

But not this one.

yes i have a spanish passport and birth certificate but am entitled to jewel nationality as far as i know but its exspensive for me to have all information translated into english

On the other hand, if you hear jewel as “jool”, it offer another possibility:

How many kilojewels of energy does it take to form a diamond?

Immediately told I couldn’t talk whilst in the spa and then had to spend the day freezing my lilies off in the cold, wet towel and robes (which we had to pay extra for), whilst trying to relax next to the fire pit pumping out a micro kilo jewel of heat.

The round tripper dual << jewel works quite naturally for those two-leaved plastic cases that hold CDs.

This enables the purchase of multi-CD sets on one disc in a slimline, luxury, heavyweight CD dual case, requiring minimal storage space.

Of course, in some instances, “dual case” may refer to cases designed to hold two CDs or DVDs, but at least two of David’s examples above make it clear that that’s not, uh, the case.
