Fans of H.P. Lovecraft will be familiar with the adjective “eldritch”. For the rest of you, it means “weird, eerie”. I recently stumbled upon this:
You know we’re living in a dystopian hellscape when even the Eldridge horrors living under little Jimmys bed say screw it, I’m out.

A search on “Eldridge horrors” yields scores of examples of this usage. I believe this is what we’ve been calling a “Lehman” (when some acorn is eggcorned into a proper name). The perp’s assumption would be that the phrase refers to someone named Eldridge who had something to do with horror. I like this one.
