Mixtape or mix tape vs. mixed tape

“I am going to make you a mixed tape” seems to have become “I am going to make you a mixtape”. Anybody else notice that?

Re: Mixtape or mix tape vs. mixed tape

This may be just sloppy. Mix may refer to the production process for audio recordings of songs; It may also refer to a collection of songs, as in a “dance mix.” Running the words together is ugly, but probably not an eggcorn.
