I’m reluctant to use phishing spam as an example, as the English is generally so poor, but this one reached me today:

If you could please take 5-10 minutes out of your online experience and update your personal records you will not run into any future problems with the online service.
However, failure to update your records will result in account suspension. Please update your records before October 29, 2006.
Now, if there were just one instance of fraud on the website, PayPal would be a paragon of virtue indeed. This is why I see an eggcorn here.
