Joni Mitchell’s classic song “For Free” includes these lines:
But the one-man band
By the quick lunch stand
He was playing real good for free.”
Until, literally, just yesterday, I always thought the line was ”...the one-man band by the kreplach stand…”. (Oxford Dictionaries defines “kreplach” as: ”...triangular noodles filled with chopped meat or cheese and served with soup.”)
