I was amazed to find this one in a law school outline…

That is alarming. A version of this was submitted last summer:

‘’Noter republic’’ instead of ‘’Notary public’’

But yours gets a whopping 877 Google hits compared to only 14 for “Noter republic” and 6 for “noter public.”

There was a Three Stooges episode from the 30s or 40s where they were looking at a map and among the silly country names was the Noter Republic!
