'reckonpence' for 'recompense'

Apologies if this is in already but I’m a little rusty and cannot find it. It does seem oddly familiar though.

Brand-new, as far as I can tell. And, simply excellent! What better name when somebody reckons out (to the penny) how much you are owed for what you did (good or bad) and pays it to you?

Indeed, a most excellent eggcorn. It plays much better in the UK than on this side of the water, where pences are pennies.
