'divestating' for 'devastating'

I’m assuming that divesting has gained a syllable in some Bushlike manner, and that the notion of loss provides adequate eggcornish imagery. Weak? Oh yes.

How many lives lost does it have to take. It is divestating to all friends, family and coworkers.

This had a divestating effect on the manufacturing base of the country to the extend that some foreign investors developed cold feet and withdrew any further.
