I heard a snipped of this song in an airport a couple weeks ago, and again out of someone’s open window the other day.

Here’s a snipped of our performance at #lfcc2019 in the cosplay finals as Kratos and mimir! We absolutely loved performing, thanks

C. A snipped of code that can be passed into a method. Block is a just a snipped of code which starts with “do” and ends with “end” key words.
There seem to be lots of them, they are proffered with no hint of apology or doubt, and it is sometimes repeated. It certainly makes sense: a snippet is a little piece that has been snipped out of something. There are enough stem-èd words around ( wretched, wicked, naked, blessèd, soft-headed, , …) that one could easily take the marginal diminutive(?) suffix -et as an example of -èd.
.
I’m quite sure we have discussed those -èd words somewhere or other on this forum, but didn’t find it; we may well have tied -et into it there.
.
We do have snipbit < snippet and snip it/snipit<snippet , here too

It makes auditory sense that “snipped” would replace “snippet.” Many people pronounce “snippet” with reduced final syllable.
Hatching new language, one eggcorn at a time.
