sheephurters

A typo, probably, or a machine generated malaprop, but my sister saw this published:

The Border Collie was bred to hurt sheep.

I suppose a bonified sheep-hurter would be a wolf or a catamount.

A couple more exx:

I don’t think chasing / hurting sheep necessarily means moving onto horses is inevitable.

... hurting sheep eight hours a day to keep them happy. The Rough Collies is an upright breed. They move sheep around by

Many more legit examples, mostly of two types:

Why Wearing Wool Means Hurting Sheep ยท The use of wool for clothing and other products hurts sheep, but you can help them!

Overwhelmed by Hurting Sheep. How do you bear the burden of your congregation when you sense that your sheep are overwhelmed in this life?

And with a turn of the tide, let us hope that the condemned shephurt managed to swallow his last meal.

First we ate a hardy breakfast on the way there. Then we ate a hardy lunch of burgers and fries.

Ate a hardy breakfast as always, and then stopped at The Great Outdoors to pick up our minnows.

Minnows? Still peckish, probably.

Re: sheephurters

This old dialogue, from 30 years ago or so, is somewhat relevant. The speakers were even then old friends of ours. They were cleaning up a place in Arizona, and she had just moved a bucket with loose tile pieces in it. She says:

There was a lizard or something in it. I think I hurt it; it was bleeding.

He responds:

You can’t have heard it. Lizards don’t bleat!

Of course they do [bleed]!

You’re imagining things!

I saw it!

Saw what?

I told you!
