"Eaves dropping" vs. "Ease Dropping"

Someone mentioned to me that she’d always thought it was “ease dropping”. I told her she’d always been wrong. She laughed.

Your friend isn’t alone. I’m not sure how to justify it in eggcorn terms, but it’s relatively common—over 600 Google hits. Examples:
