Part of the charm and interest of owning a parrot is, apparently, the amusement afforded by its uncannily accurate imitations of its owners’ voices. ‘Parody’ also involves humourous mimicry and for those who sound the ‘t’ of parrot as a ‘d’ some confusion is, perhaps, understandable.
