'snip it' for 'snippet'

An unsurprising misreading, since ‘snippet’ probably derives from ‘snip’ in the first place. Examples:

In addressing whether U.S. resolve there has been shaken, here’s a snip it of what he said. transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0307/03/se.11.html

Here is a snip-it that I use in one of my programs – it’s a touch kludgey but if you know java you can decipher the needed parts …

Even so, the “it” part is classic and might be enough to qualify the construction as an eggcorn! I particularly like the hyphenated version: “snip-it”—since hyphenating is a sign of a thoughtful writer in general.
