A cursory Google search yielded a disappointingly small number of hits, but maybe that just reflects the small number of amateur linguists making eggcorn-style errors regarding terms relevant to their field?
In any case, the alternate spelling makes some sense. A loneword tends to be a word that is exceptional in its orthography or pronunciation or otherwise exceptional when taking into account the conventions of the target language.
Anyone else have experience with this eggcorn?
