I heard about the wonderful world of eggcorns through New Scientist some months back and filed it in my memory through the “lame man’s terms” example.
A couple of weeks back I was doing some study whereby the term “lay person” or “lay men” cropped up. I have seen “lamen’s terms” linked with “lame man terms” but not “lay man’s terms”
Am I being utterly ignorant and stoopid at pointing this out, or is it another view to this particular eggcorn??
