All the sudden/All of a sudden

I’ve noticed at least two twenty-somethings using the phrase “All the sudden” rather than “All of a sudden”, as if they are hearing “of a” as “the”. Anyone else observed this?

Re: All the sudden/All of a sudden

all the time! We’re all born morons and it takes quite a while for some of us to work our way out of it. Sadly, some never make it. This one’s like the “try and do” versus “try to do”.

I’ve also heard ” All of the sudden”
