carboard for cardboard, as in "a carboard box"

“A carboard box that was once filled with scotch” leapt out from the page. A check on Google reveals about 24,800 hits for the phrase “carboard box” (2 million for “cardboard box”) and 202,000 hits for “carboard” (20 million for “cardboard”), so there is about a 1% eggcorn factor, if this is truly an eggcorn. A few hits were for a board used to display photos of cars.

Maybe this happened because a carboard box is often used to carry things in the car. Also, when I work under my car, I usually lie down on carboard.
