'backclash' for 'backlash'

In a recent conversation in which the word ‘backlash’ was used I thought I heard an unusual emphasis taking place on the hinge of the syllables; subsequent googling yielded 1,120 hits for “backclash”.
I can’t claim any really alternative imagery here, though the notion of a resounding conflict is perhaps even more apparent than in the original.

Re: 'backclash' for 'backlash'

Very nice find derived from some careful listening, Peter. The alternate imagery derives from the difference between “lash” and “clash.” Perhaps “backclash” focusses more on the clashing than the lashing (out)—even though one might accompany the other. The subtle difference in the imagery almost parallels the subtle difference in sound.
