'lesion of honor' for 'legion of honor'

Military veterans often receive an award (such as induction into the Legion of Honor) for sufferingan injury (or lesion). Uncommon, but I would guess that ‘’egion’ and ‘lesion’ get mixed up in other contexts too. Examples:

Louis-Philippe conferred upon him the order of the Lesion of Honor.
