I’m not sure if this one really counts as an eggcorn or not, but I just noticed it on a blog I read:
June of 2008 was supposed to be the deadline for Hollywood to make good on new contracts, but it looks as if the Screenwriters guild are going to move early, and lay waist to the Justice League in the process.Offline
I think you’re probably correct in saying that it’s not an eggcorn. It’s hard to conjure up any credible imagery where “waist” might be taken literally. Probably just a misspelled word.
