'spore' for 'spoor' for 'spore'...

Both spores and spoors leave prints, evidence of their presence or recent passing and both are, given sufficient expertise, definitive means of identification. In many spoken Englishes they are homonyms too, which increases the opportunities for confusion. My native dialect makes a clear distinction between moor/more, sure/shore, tour/tore and poor/pore, the former of each pair having two syllables rather than one, but few BrEnglish dialects do this. Anyway, to get back to the point, I suspect something eggcornish may be going on, and in both directions…
