From The Brown Daily Herald, the student-published daily newspaper of Brown University, dated November 14, 2007:
A story about a midnight dodgeball group at Brown University talks about the value of blowing off steam and the cathartic pleasures of small-time revenge: “Hitting the kid who blind-sighted you with the Dora the Explorer ball is definitely a much healthier way to let your aggression out at the end of the day,” he said.
There is a plausible reason for this eggcorn, I suppose. The person who is blind-sided is, in fact, “blind” to the impending attack, perpetrated by someone who is “sighted”—who sees everything, including the back of the victim’s head. It’s a cute eggcorn, but it’ a stretch.

Welcome to the forum, Heintz! This one is getting to be something of a classic, though it’s never made it into the Database. One thread about it is here: http://eggcorns.lascribe.net/forum/view … p?pid=4607
If you scroll down to the fourth post in that thread, Jorkel provides a useful roundup of posts on the idea. There’s also a fairly spirited debate about its eggcornicity.
