Hypothetical situations and questions can be based upon severely limited evidence and consequently can appear tenuous and even absurd. ‘High pathetical’ with its overtones of contempt and pity could, I think, elbow its way into such company. Even as a spelling mistake it seems to have possibilities but I could be deceiving myself, again.
