'humpty dory' for 'hunky dory'

Potential eggcorns are sometimes judged by how well they evoke an image and, in this case, neither the original nor the substitute do much. However, ‘humpty’ is obviously borrowed from ‘humpty-dumpty,’ the name of a big, round, smiling (in the Tenniel illustrations) and apparently self-satisfied character- at least until he went splat. So there’s some attitudinal overlap. Examples:

But the esteemed members of this forum feel that everything was humpty dory.

Actually, it’s any go-lucky humpty-dory family/neighborhood TV sitcom with overly crude humor.

In other words, most people don’t or won’t see the full picture and think everything is supposed to be all humpty dory.

And that’s really all that matters, so I guess that everything is humpty dory right?

It’s all humpty-dory BEFORE it falls?

I like this one. But now we have to invent a word for what it all is AFTER it falls.

I figured that is the “dumpty” part. Maybe if intentionally leaves the wall he’s Humpty Jumpty?

Hunky dorky – like the Governator used to be?

celeb idols: things weren’t exactly hunky dorky on the homefront

Self-stretched earlobes gone wrong : My right ear was bleeding again, and still burned like a mother, so I decided it wouldn’t hurt to take the plug out to be sure everything was hunky-dorky. I took it out, and was horrified to see my mutilated ear.

A tenuous peace was achieved, and everything seemed hunky-dorky.
