Is there a way to block our forum spammer/shoe salesman, jqyshoes?
He or she could at least contribute an eggcorn or two along with the spam!
Feeling quite combobulated.

The administrator removes them when he becomes aware of them.

Okay, it’s safe to wear shoes (or carry purses) again—I’ve deleted our spam. And after that I went rummaging through the deserted back offices here, looking for that darn manual. And waddya know…. Most of the time, it turns out that I don’t have the access to do whatever we feel needs to be done on the site. But in this case I actually found clear directions for banning offending IPs, so if the pesky Prada peddler strikes again, we’ll be ready for him.

um. at the moment there are several spam threads preceding this one in the list. Lol. Guess it didn’t work.

No, we can’t tell yet whether it worked. As I said in the earlier post, I only figured out how to ban IPs after I deleted the spam—which means I didn’t have any IPs to ban. This morning’s new batch gave me an IP to work with, so we’ll see if they’re back tomorrow. And spammers typically work with multiple IPs—they may just jump to a new one on me
