'caucases' for 'caucasus'

Mountain ranges are commonly named by plural nouns- the Alps, Rockies, Himalayas, etc.- so it’s natural to turn the name of a mountainous region like the Caucasus into a plural. Examples:

During his conquests and travels he came to a region in the Caucases, the mountain range between Europe and Asia.
