"cowered" for "cowed"

from a comment about Clinton on a political blog:

“You must hand it to hil, she has cowered the press.”

Now that’s an eggcorn! To “cow” meaning to “intimidate” is certainly a peculiar verb, but people who are “cowed” may well “cower.” It’s easy to turn “cower” from an intransitive to a transitive verb, and it makes more sense, too.
