This is a funny one for me because as a kid, hearing the word synagogue, I always thought it was “sin o’ god,” which was very confusing as God was perfect. But it works eggcornishly, I think, because of our associating God with the synagogue.

You will find a few cases on the web of “sinagod” for “synagogue.” Some of them are on anti-Semitic sites.
