Sorted Details for Sordid Details

Found this in the comments at the Daily Kos blog this morning:

<I remember during Watergate, my late Dad said,
” It is hard to tell your crooks without a program.” We laughed that we should have sold Watergate Programs with each player’s name, crimes, and sorted details.>

Assuming the writer meant sordid details, the meaning dovetails with the activity of sorting the crimes and crooks into a program, so the details were both sordid and sorted?

That was one of the earliest entries in the database. See <http://eggcorns.lascribe.net/english/49/sorted/>.

Sorry! I must not use the search engine correctly. I did search, and nothing came up.
