Another improved literary title:
The idea of a lost civilisation in Tibet received its most enduring expression in Last Horizon by the English writer James Hilton.

Here are some other title permutations on the web that look like they may be real mistakes. One or two may have eggcorn potential. Porn-oy’s Complaint, for example.
The Great Gutsby
The Sound and the Furry
The Grapes of Wraith
The Way of All Fish
The Sun also Rices
Pornoy’s Complaint
Brideshed Revisited
Water Ship Down
The Sot-Weed Factory
The Taming of the Shrewd
Hatching new language, one eggcorn at a time.

The Taming of the Shrewd
I anxiously (yet prudently) await this production at my local community theater.

This is a fun thread…. I bet we could find quite a few eggcornish literary titles on the Internet! (Related to “The Taming of the Shrewd,” though it’s just a pun, there is a band called Kill Me Kate.”) And O. Henry wrote a story called “A Midsummer Knight’s Dream.” Those are intentional, of course, but the possibilities seem to be nearly endless.

Here are some other web examples of book titles that appear not to be intentional jokes:
Shylock Holmes
Withering Heights
Silas Mariner
Candid (Voltaire)
Hatching new language, one eggcorn at a time.

‘Silas Mariner’ reminds me that people love to write ‘Grand Mariner’ for ‘Grand Marnier’ (I first posted it a long time ago.)
