I heard “levied against” on a BBC programme this morning and realised that the man meant “levelled against” (USEng: leveled against). There are a few situations where this construction is appropriate (google “levy against” to see), but googling “levied against” throws up lots of misusages.
(“Levy” is also used where “levee” is meant, but that’s not an eggcorn.)
